How to Fix Suede Paint Mistakes
Even experienced painters make mistakes. The good news is that most suede paint issues are fixable. Here are the most common problems and how to address them.
Visible Brush Strokes or Lines
If you can see harsh brush lines, the paint was likely applied too heavily or in one direction only. Once dry, lightly sand the area with fine-grit sandpaper, wipe clean, and reapply using a crosshatch motion with lighter pressure.
Uneven Texture or Patchy Areas
This usually happens when paint dries too quickly or sections are overworked. Apply a thin additional coat over the patchy area using random, feathered strokes to blend it into the surrounding texture.
Too Much Texture
If the finish looks too heavy or rough, you may have used too much Wall FX or applied too thick a coat. Lightly sand when dry and apply a thin finishing coat to smooth it out.
Color Inconsistency
Variations in color usually mean uneven application or inconsistent mixing. Always mix your Wall FX thoroughly before each use and maintain consistent stroke pressure throughout.
